Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli witnessed on Sunday inking cooperation protocol among the Ministries of Finance, Environment, and Local Development and South Sinai governorate on collecting and moving solid waste as well as cleaning streets and facilities of Sharm El-Sheikh.Madbouli also witnessed the signing of a tripartite agreement between South Sinai governorate, a consortium of Green Planet and BEEAH Group in the presence of Finance Minister Mohamed Maait, Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad, Local Development Minister Hesham Amna, and Governor Khaled Fouda.The two deals aim to support South Sinai's efforts to be a sustainable and green city in light of its host of the UN climate conference, COP27, slated to be held in November in Sharm el Sheikh city.Meanwhile, Maait said his ministry will provide the required financial appropriations during the duration of the contract with the consortium, noting the integrated solid waste management system is very essential in line with the state's sustainable development goals.Fouad, for her part, noted the Environment Ministry outlines the executive scheme for the waste management system generally in coordination with the Local Development Ministry in cooperation with the private sector.Meantime, Amna said the ministry will offer various types of technical and legal support to carry out the protocol.
